The perks of wedded bliss? A third season pickup.
Giuliana and Bill Rancic will continue their geographically handicapped relationship in front of cameras. The Style Network announced Wednesday its reality series “Giuliana & Bill” will return for a third round.
Giuliana is tangled up in celebrity culture as an “E! News” anchor in Los Angeles, while Bill, best known as the first winner of “The Apprentice,” is an author and professional speaker based in Chicago.
Each week viewers watched the two struggle to make their marriage work despite thousands of miles between them. Or they watched Giuliana try to talk a cynical Bill into doing something … anything -- throwing a dinner party, moving to Los Angeles, buying a coffee table.
Season 3 will focus on their quest to start a family.
‘Style viewers have fallen in love with Giuliana and Bill, and have tuned in for every honest and open moment the couple has been through since saying ‘I do,’ ‘ said Salaam Coleman Smith, president of the L.A.-based network, in a statement. ‘Now, with a baby at the top of their wish list, viewers will continue on this very personal journey as they explore new options for trying to expand their family and face some of the hardest issues a couple can go through. Season three will be a pivotal time for the Rancics, and we are looking forward to finding out what will happen next.’
The series’ first season began in 2009. Season 2, which premiered Jan. 3, 2010, posted a 15% gain in total viewers (329,000) over Season 1, according to the network.
