NBC has unveiled its midseason schedule, which adds four series and shakes up much of the lineup while benching the struggling ‘Community’ and ‘Prime Suspect.’
‘Community’ could return later, according to an insider, who also said the network is ‘considering its options’ with ‘Prime Suspect,’ which stars Maria Bello as a New York Police Department detective.
The comedy ‘Bent’ starring Amanda Peet and the drama ‘Awake’ starring Jason Issacs, both which had been slated for midseason, are also not on the January-March schedule, though both shows may make the lineup later.
Returning in midseason are ‘The Voice,’ ‘30 Rock,’ ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ and ‘Who Do You Think You Are?,’ while there will be day and time period changes for ‘Whitney,’ ‘Up All Night,’ ‘Rock Center with Brian Williams’ and ‘Harry’s Law.’
The new series include:
‘Fashion Star,’ a reality competition show hosted and executive-produced by Elle MacPherson, will premiere with a two-hour episode March 13.
‘The Firm,’ based on the John Grisham bestselling movie and novel, continues the story of attorney Mitchell McDeere and his family 10 years after the events of the film and novel.
‘Smash,’ which stars Debra Messing in a drama about the behind-the-scenes creation of a Broadway musical.
‘Are You There, Chelsea,’ inspired by comic Chelsea Handler (‘Chelsea Lately’).
A full schedule is after the jump.
