If UCLA holds on for this loss, true freshman Derrick Coleman will probably be inconsolable over his fumble inside the Fresno State 10-yard line just when it looked as if the Bruins had momentum.

But he shouldn’t be. True freshmen make mistakes and his was no different than Rick Neuheisel’s curious decision to take that holding call in the third quarter, the one where, given an extra chance, Fresno State scored.
