Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson is moving his NBA studio analyst gig to ESPN and ABC after seven years with Turner Sports. Johnson, who had appeared mainly on Turner Sports’ Thursday night NBA coverage, will go live with ESPN on Christmas Day and also work the post-season and NBA Finals. He also will work regular season games on ABC.

Johnson tested the ESPN and ABC waters this year when he appeared as a guest analyst during Game One of the NBA Finals.

“Magic has always been one of the most accomplished people in every field he has endeavored,’ said Norby Williamson, ESPN’s executive vice president, production. ‘He was an incomparable player and has become one of the best NBA analysts in the business.’

Johnson will team up on ABC’s GMC NBA Countdown show with Stuart Scott, Mike Wilbon and Jon Barry.
