Brett Favre: Can you hear me now?

I think Favre is a French name.
If I’m not mistaken, ‘sabotage’ is French too.
Which brings me to this: Fox’s Jay Glazer has reported that Brett Favre made a call to the Detroit Lions before they played Green Bay in Week 2, and gave the coaches a 90-minute briefing on the details of the Packers’ offensive playbook. Whoa! Talk about vindictive.
In an e-mail to NBC’s Peter King, Favre denied doing anything of the sort, and Lions coaches also told King they have no idea where that story came from. Glazer is very good and breaks a lot of stuff, so I wouldn’t be quick to dismiss this one.
And, in my Tuesday column that will be posted on our website tonight, I’ll explain why Favre’s denials are as empty to me as a Green Bay shopping mall on a fall Sunday. Stay tuned.
(Oh, and for the record, ‘legacy’ isn’t French. I just checked.)
