Mark Wogenrich of the Allentown Morning Call wrote on the ‘Nittany Lines’ blog about Penn State Coach Joe Paterno and today’s media session. It’s all about the reference made by USC Coach Pete Carroll to the movie ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,’ something The Times’ Corina Knoll wrote about this morning on this blog.
But it was Wogenrich’s question that prompted Paterno’s priceless response, picked up, he says, by ESPN. On ESPN.com, the JoePa (as he is affectionately known) that is worth a look is the video below, posted today but clearly before he announced he would coach from the press box.
Meanwhile, The Times’ Gary Klein and Mike Hiserman have an updated notebook of all that happened today. Among the items, Paterno said he thinks way too much attention is being focused on the fact he will not be on the sidelines coaching.
‘Who knows what’s going to happen by Thursday for crying out loud,’ Paterno said. ‘I might decide to take a boat to Italy.’
