UFC’s Dana White apologizes for some comments

Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White has released a short YouTube video apologizing for some of the things he said in his three-plus-minute video in which he hurled a barrage of profane statements in the direction of veteran MMA reporter Loretta Hunt of Sherdog.com.

‘Obviously, I chose some words that hurt or offended somebody,’ White said standing inside the ropes of a boxing ring from his UFC video blog from Nashville.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation called for White to apologize Thursday after he used a derogatory term for homosexual in his tirade. White said he didn’t intend to offend gays.

‘... I’m a supporter of many of their issues. The last thing that I would ever want anyone to think of me ... is to attack someone because of their sexual orientation,’ White said on the video. ‘I apologize for anyone I’ve offended or hurt.’

White never said Hunt’s name. The reporter had posted a story Wednesday revealing that some fighters’ agents or managers have been denied backstage credentials, with some of those denied claiming UFC is trying to exhibit more control over the fighters.
