Good weekend for Southern California drivers

Ron Hornaday Jr. won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in Memphis, Tenn.

Larry Dixon and Jack Beckman won National Hot Rod Assn. races in Norwalk, Ohio.

All three drivers began their racing careers in Southern California. Hornaday was a champion stock car racer at Saugus Speedway. Dixon graduated from Van Nuys High School. Beckman lives in North Hills. Dixon and Beckman began their drag racing careers at tracks in Pomona and throughout Southern California.
