Last September, the Lakers arrived at training camp having lost in the NBA Finals to the Boston Celtics.
The Lakers weren’t sure how they would handle that, but they were on a mission to win the NBA title. This September, the Lakers arrived at training camp as the NBA champions, having defeated the Orlando Magic in five games.
As they try to repeat, Kobe Bryant said this morning after the team’s second practice, it’s too early to measure who the Lakers are compared to the team they were at the same time last season.
Even with the addition of Ron Artest, Bryant said, it’ll take time before the Lakers will know what type of team they will be.
‘We didn’t know what we were going to be like last year, either,’ Bryant said. ‘We felt like we had a lot of potential like we do this year. It’s too early to gauge after the second practice where we were compared to last year.’
