It’s back to the 1970s for Churchill Downs, where scenes from the forthcoming Walt Disney Studio motion picture ‘Secretariat’ will be filmed starting Monday.
The paddock area and grandstand will be made to look like 1973, the year Secretariat won the Kentucky Derby in a track record time of 1:59 2/5 and went on to win the Triple Crown.
Extras are being sought to appear in the film, and people are asked to show up at Churchill Downs in Louisville and wear clothing from the 1970s on Monday and Tuesday.
So bring your bell-bottoms, platform shoes and Afro wigs.
The new movie includes Diane Lane starring as owner Penny Chenery and John Malkovich as trainer Lucien Laurin.
