A combination of bump-drafting regulations and end-over-end crashes led NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman to call Sunday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway boring.

Newman was involved in one of two spectacular crashes at the end of the Talladega race. He took his frustrations out on NASCAR for creating a car he called a box and rules that led to a ridiculous race.

Jeff Gordon wasn’t quite so critical, but he said he would like to see changes made so the racing is a little more exciting and the crashes not so dramatic.

Dramatic crashes have always been a part of Talladega, but apparently it’s too much for the modern NASCAR driver.
