The Red Wings continue to be hit by injuries to key players, even as they prepared to welcome forwards Henrik Zetterberg and Dan Cleary back into their lineup Thursday against the Kings at Staples Center.
According to reports from Detroit, crease-crashing forward Tomas Holmstrom fractured a bone in his foot during the team’s practice on Wednesday and he will be out three to four weeks.
It’s unclear whether the injury will affect his participation in the Vancouver Olympics. Holmstrom was chosen to play for defending champion Sweden in the Olympic tournament, which begins Feb. 16.
