The Bruins are well on their way to a rematch with USC in Saturday’s semifinals of the State Farm Pacific 10 Conference women’s basketball tournament.

That’s after the first half against Oregon State, which UCLA leads, 37-18.

UCLA dominated the points-in-the-paint category, 22 to two. The Beavers also had an astounding 19 first-half turnovers, which UCLA converted into 23 points.

If UCLA wins (and it’s hard to believe the opposite could happen), the Bruins will face USC on Saturday. The third-seeded Trojans advanced to the semifinal round by beating sixth-seeded Oregon, 80-76.

The Trojans and Bruins split two games this season, with each team winning on its home court. But the rivalry has much more juice in it after Trojans Coach Michael Cooper directed an expletive at UCLA following his team’s 70-63 win on Jan. 17.
