The Clippers eeked out a 100-94 win against Denver on Saturday night at Staples Center, but the loss of leading-scorer Eric Gordon, who re-aggravated his right wrist injury in the second quarter, spoiled the victory.

The Clippers guard hit the floor hard with 5:05 left before halftime after being fouled by Denver center Timofey Mozgov on a drive to the basket.

Gordon stayed down for about a minute before leaving for the locker room, holding the wrist that he injured in a fall Jan. 22 against Golden State. He did not return to the game.

He not only sprained his wrist in that Jan. 22 fall, but a bone chip was also found. After X-rays Saturday, Gordon said he was glad to learn he didn’t break anything and that he only re-aggravated the original injury.

It’s unclear how much longer Gordon, who went into the game averaging 24.1 points and scored five in 14 minutes Saturday, will be out. The Clippers are 4-16 without him this season.

Gordon returned Wednesday for the first time since that injury and scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Clippers to a 106-103 win against Houston.

The Clippers embark on a five-game road trip starting Monday at Charlotte.

Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro on the win:

‘I’m proud of how we battled. Eric Bledsoe was the difference. His activity was great. He was all over the place. He had seven steals and in the second half he made a lot of plays and shots that were huge for us.’

Del Negro on Gordon:

‘He’ll be out. He’ll stay back here. He’s got a bone fracture, a bone chip. Don’t ask me the correct [terminology]. The words are too long for me to pronounce. Ask Jasen Powell, ask the medical staff. But he will be out. How long, I don’t know. But it’s just real frustrating. I feel bad for Eric, but other guys are gonna have to step up.’

Gordon on his injury:

‘I just re-aggravated it. I just need to see what my pain tolerance is and how I can deal with it and work from there. It is frustrating and I wanted to see how I could play with the new guys but that’s how things went. This was a crazy game. We were up in the first half and it’s good that Eric Bledsoe stepped up to make sure that we got this win.’

Gordon on when he’ll be back:

‘I’m not really sure. Ill know for sure [Sunday].’

Gordon on if he’ll make the road trip:

‘I’m not sure.’

Gordon on the pain level:

‘I don’t think its as bad as it was when I first hurt it.’

Bledsoe, who scored a career-high 20 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, on the win:

‘We just tried to make big plays. We tried to take the momentum from them. I just had to be aggressive. I’ve been passing up too many shots the last couple of games so I had to force myself to create easier plays.’

Forward Blake Griffin (18 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high nine assists) on Bledsoe’s performance:

‘We definitely needed that from [Eric Bledsoe] and I’m really glad for him. We played well in stretches but we did let up on defense here and there. Eric Bledsoe played out of his mind. He’s really the reason why we won the game. He just kept hitting big shot after big shot.’

Griffin on adjusting to new teammates:

‘Eveyrday it’s a process. Mo [Williams] has picked up the offense really fast. I think he’s done an unbelievable job. The more games we play, the more practices we have, the better off we’ll be.’
