My apologies go to Garrett Haar of Huntington Beach, whose name was omitted from a list published Sunday of Southern California prospects chosen in the NHL draft Friday and Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.

Haar, a defenseman who will turn 18 in August, was selected 207th by the Washington Capitals among the 211 players selected in seven rounds. Here’s a bit more about him from Washington Times Capitals blogger Stephen Whyno.

The other three local players chosen in the draft were forward Rocco Grimaldi of Rossmoor, who went 33rd to Florida, left wing Matt Nieto of Long Beach, who was chosen 47th by San Jose, and right wing Shane McColgan of Manhattan Beach, chosen 134th by the New York Rangers.

Good luck to them all.
