The Green Bay Packers are not only supreme on the football field, they’re also well-liked. Jeez, the most talented kid is never supposed to be the most popular too.
According to Public Policy Polling’s newest national survey, 22% of voters say the Packers are their favorite team in the NFL. The Cowboys finished second with 11% of the votes.
Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers led the Packers to a 13-0 start this season and has acted with dignity and class as the head of his team.
For example, after the team’s first loss last Sunday to the Kansas City Chiefs, he had a smile on his face. When asked why on the television show ‘Pardon the Interruption,’ he said, ‘I think two things. I think one was I peeked over at the Chiefs sidelines and saw them dousing [interim head coach] Romeo Crennel and I think something inside me was just kind of happy for Romeo.
‘He’s been in the league for a while. I actually met him in 2005, and you know to see him smile was a good thing.’
After the Packers blew their goal of finishing with a perfect season, Rodgers was happy for the other team’s coach? Imagine Kobe Bryant losing a game and being happy for someone representing the other franchise. Wouldn’t happen.
No wonder the Packers topped the poll.
