There are no more makeshift jerseys with No. 17 ironed on them at Madison Square Garden. The real stuff is here.
Or, at least the semi-real stuff.
Roughly 1,500 Jeremy Lin replica jerseys were on sale Wednesday when doors opened before the game between the New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings.
The authentic jerseys are still on order, said Betty Jackson, supervisor of merchandise for MSG.
Jackson said she had not seen anything like the frenzy for Lin merchandise in the wake of the point guard’s six-game tear in which he has scored at least 20 points each game while leading the Knicks to a 6-0 record. The team sold out of its meager allotment of 144 Lin jerseys and 288 T-shirts at the last home game, when the Knicks played the Lakers on Friday.
The new Lin items were hung and stacked in a prominent display near the front of the store Wednesday.
“We have everything in Lin,” Jackson said. “Even Lin fingers.”
Sure enough, the team sells blue No. 17 foam fingers that read “Linsanity.”
“Right now,” Jackson said, “it’s all about him.”
