Yes, Sprint will finally get its iPhone with the release of Apple’s iPhone 4S.
The Sprint iPhone has been rumored for months, and the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times have been reporting it as fact for days, even though Apple and Sprint had not yet publicly said that the handset would be available.
But it seems that Apple gave itself away on Tuesday. On Apple’s website, at http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones, the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 4 are listed as both being available on Sprint, as well as AT&T and Verizon.
As of Tuesday afternoon, representatives of Apple and Sprint were not available to comment on the page, which compares the specs in Apple’s iPhone lineup, but as soon as they do respond, we’ll update this post.
[Updated 4:01 p.m.: Sprint spokeswoman Michelle Leff Mermelstein confirmed the Sprint iPhone, sending along this statement in an email:
Today is all about the new products being announced by our partners at Apple. We are delighted to be part of this announcement. We will have more details to come shortly but for today we would like to keep the focus on these exciting new devices that will be coming to Sprint customers.]
