Christmas comes early for Bob Dylan fans

I suspect that everyone who has ever cared about Bob Dylan has been wondering the same thing lately: What is that crazy Christmas album going to sound like?
As announced last month, Dylan has an album coming Oct. 13 called ‘Christmas in the Heart,’ which features a host of very traditional holiday standards, including ‘Santa Claus Lane,’ ‘Winter Wonderland,’ ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ and ‘Do You Hear What I Hear?’ (Dylan is donating his royalties from the project to Feeding America.) You can now hear excerpts from the songs themselves on YouTube and I have to say -- it truly boggles the brain. All sorts of analogies come to mind (trying to imagine Sarah Palin doing System of a Down ... Oprah doing Willie Nelson ... Kanye West doing, well, a whole album of Taylor Swift originals).
But the best I can come up with is Charles Bukowski reading a speech by Sen. Orrin Hatch. Listen for yourself and let me know what you think:
