Jae Oh, a 38-year-old man of Korean descent, was struck on the head at 7851 Hillrose St. in Sunland, and died at 7:46 a.m. July 27.

An acupuncturist with a business in Burbank, Oh left his house in this quiet, residential neighborhood that morning to go to work, said Det. Pat Barron of LAPD Foothill Homicide. He got in his car, started it, but then was somehow pulled, lured or forced out. His assailant hit him on the head with what Barron described only as ‘a hard object.’ Nothing was taken, neither money nor valuables. A neighbor found him lying dead with blunt-force trauma injuries. His wife, children and other family members were inside the house, and came out to find him dead.
