Lancaster: Man, 19, shot twice

Raul Avila, a 19-year-old Latino, died after he was shot twice in his car on Thursday, April 9, in the 44200 block of Glenraven Road in Lancaster, according to sheriff’s officials.

As Avila pulled into his driveway about 7 a.m., a man shot him, then fled on foot, authorities said. One witness tried to chase the shooter, but the man fired several shots – missing the person who was chasing him, authorities said.

Sheriff’s officials said they believed the shooting was gang-related.
