Huntington Park: Man, 23, shot by police

Steven Hernandez, a 23-year-old Latino, was shot by police officers on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, in the 6500 block of Albany Street in Huntington Park, officials said.

Hernandez was seen in a car that matched the description of one involved in a robbery. Hernandez ran from officers, and after a lengthy pursuit, they shot him, authorities said.

Hernandez was not involved in the robbery, and police are unsure why he ran, police said.
