Julie McChristy, 37, Molina’s roommate, has been charged in the slaying, officials said. McChristy plead not guilty at an arraignment April 16, and her next scheduled court date is May 13.

McChristy was found in Omaha boarding a train to San Francisco when she was picked up by U.S. Marshals and taken into custody, Mitchell said.

She waived her extradition hearing, and was brought back to California by police. Mitchell said police don’t have a motive for the killing.
