Opinion: Rack up another Barack Obama primary win

Barack Obama, who sent part of his childhood overseas, has extended his winning streak in the Democratic presidential race by winning the Democrats Abroad primary. And as has been the case in recent contests in various states, Obama clobbered Hillary Clinton by a more than 2-to-1 margin.

That means he’ll garner the majority -- though not all -- of the 14 pledged delegates at stake. The group’s eight superdelegates, mirroring the divisions among these party leaders and activists elsewhere, are split at the moment: two for Obama, two for Clinton and four undecided.

Obama lived four years as a boy in Indonesia and, as we noted in a previous item, early returns showed him winning big among American living there now. The largest groups of expats, however, reside in Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

If past patterns hold, Clinton will NOT offer a public congratulations to Obama while the pair are debating this evening on CNN (starting at 5 p.m. PST).
