Donald Trump
on Monday praised President Obama for the leadership that took out Osama bin Laden, and he advised Americans to honor the victims of the 9/11 attacks instead of partaking in partisan politics.

‘I want to personally congratulate President Obama and the men and women of the Armed Forces for a job well done,’ the billionaire said in a statement.

‘I am so proud to see Americans standing shoulder to shoulder, waving the American flag in celebration of this great victory,’ stated Trump, who just last week said ‘our leaders are stupid, they are stupid people.’

‘We should spend the next several days not debating party politics, but in remembrance of those who lost their lives on 9/11 and those currently fighting for our freedom,’ Trump said, adding ‘God bless America!’

The real estate tycoon on Sunday complained on ‘Fox & Friends’ that the president and ‘Saturday Night Live’ head writer Seth Meyers focused too much on him during Saturday’s White House correspondents dinner speeches.

‘You raise to a certain level in the polls and boy, does the world come after you,’ Trump said. ‘That was a largely liberal room. I had no idea it would be to that extent, where you know, it was just joke after joke after joke,’ he said of the barbs delivered at his expense. ‘It was almost like, is there anyone else they could talk about?’ Trump wondered.

‘Donald Trump has said he’s running for president as a Republican,’ Meyers said during his monologue Saturday, ‘which is surprising because I thought he was running as a joke.’ Trump later called Meyers a stutterer.

Meyers also had a few zingers for the president.

‘If your hair gets any whiter, the ‘tea party’ is going to endorse it,’ the comedian said as the president laughed a few feet away.

Obama also had several jokes about Trump, who has hinted about running for president in 2012. In one of the jokes, Obama showed an image of a supposedly renovated White House with Trump’s name emblazoned on it, women in bikinis soaking in a fountain and men playing golf on the lawn.

‘No one is prouder to put this birth-certificate matter to rest than the Donald,’ Obama said in another joke. ‘And that’s because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter. Like, did we fake the moon landing, what really happened in Roswell and where are Biggie and Tupac?’
