My all-time favorite football movie is North Dallas Forty, which might explain why I find this story is so hilarious.
Corona Coach John Brandom was on a bus the Friday before Labor Day, heading to a scrimmage at Rialto Carter, when he learned school officials at Carter had canceled the game because of the heat. According the the story, he let loose some bawdy language that was enough to make a grown man cringe. Corona officials decided to apoligize to their counterparts at Carter.
If I had a buck for every F-bomb my high school coaches dropped on me, I would have paid my own way to college.
I can see why Brandom was eager to get started. Corona hammered Chino Hills Ayala, 43-14, in its season opener Friday.
