It might be time to include Redlands East Valley in the state bowl blathering. The No. 16 Wildcats are doing a number on No. 13 Dominguez, leading 17-7 late in the second quarter.

Chris Polk scored on a 44-yard run on his first carry of the game, then the first of two turnovers by the Dons -- so far -- set up a six-yard touchdown run by Nicholas Badis, giving REV a 14-0 lead midway through the opening quarter.

Marcus Darden scored on a three-yard run later in the quarter to give Dominguez fans something to cheer about, but a 31-yard field goal on the opening play of the second quarter extended the lead back to 10.

The stands are jam-packed on the REV side. Maybe that’s why it’s so crowded on the sidelines.

I just heard a 10-year-old kid ask a Redlands policewoman if she had bullets in her gun.
