Three Trinity League teams are among the top 12 in The Times’ boys’ basketball rankings, which means a quality game should never be far away. First up: No. 12 JSerra at No. 2 Mater Dei tonight/Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. They played once already and MD won, 88-74.
That’s just the warmup, though. The big game of the week is Friday, when Mater Dei plays host to No. 6 Santa Margarita at 7:30 p.m. Right now, MD is 16-0 and Santa Margarita is 16-1, the only blemish a 61-59 setback to No. 5 Campbell Hall, which, by the way, was beaten by JSerra, 84-70.
Rivals.com just released its Fab 50 national ranking. Mater Dei is No. 18 and Santa Margarita is No. 30.
