Mater Dei leads after first quarter

There’s more than 3,000 fans who came out to Mater Dei tonight to see the Trinity League showdown between the unbeaten Monarchs and Santa Margarita. Mater Dei leads after the first quarter, 15-14.

Mater Dei is playing without 6-10 Travis Wear, who tore a muscle in his shin on Wednesday and will be sidelined one month. But his twin brother, David, came out and picked up for his brother’s absence, scoring nine points in the opening quarter.
