The Baseline League seems like a great place to play high school basketball.

After all, what other league shares its name with terminology so often heard on the hardwood floor? There’s certainly no Weakside Help League, or Box-And-One League or He Walked League.

On that point, the top two teams in the Baseline League are scheduled to meet tonight when No. 11 Etiwanda hosts No. 22 Upland at 6:30.

Etiwanda (20-0, 4-0) defeated the Highlanders by six points on Dec. 12, one of 10 victories by 10 points or less for the Eagles.

Upland (18-3, 4-0) offers a unique challenge for Etiwanda because of its size. Kevin Bradshaw, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound senior, and Thomas Colbert, a 6-6, 245-pound senior, play forward for the Highlanders, while 6-9 junior Zach Robbins fills the middle.

The Eagles will counter with a more athletic group, led by 6-5 senior Tre Brewer, 6-4 junior Jordan Finn and 6-6 junior Rome Draper.

I think Etiwanda, once again, scores just enough points and steals just enough lazy passes to win its 21st straight game, 50-48.
