Bellomo named to replace Mater Dei AD Stringer

Phil Bellomo, who has been at Mater Dei for the last 24 years, has been named the school’s athletic director.

Bellomo replaces Martin Stringer, who was named associate dean of exercise science at Santiago Canyon College.

Stringer had also been the boys’ soccer coach and guided the team to four section titles.

Bellomo has had a number of positions at Mater Dei as well as with the Lakers, Clippers and FSN.
