If you can get past the cow manure smell outside, there’s a pretty good Southern Section Division V-A boys’ basketball game going on inside the gymnasium at Colony High.
St. Bonaventure leads at the half, 33-27, but only because Rosamond can’t seem to make two free throws in a row. The Roadrunners are just three of 12 from the line.
The Seraphs took their biggest lead, 31-19, with about 1 minute 25 seconds remaining in the first half, but Donte Day put back a missed free throw and Raymund Bernas put back his own miss at the buzzer to give Rosamond’s fans some life.
The Roadrunners need to play some transition defense, however. St. Bonaventure has scored some easy fastbreak buckets and a couple times it was after Rosamond scored a field goal.
St. Bonaventure guard Nick Molina has had an especially easy time getting to the hole. He and Bo Mesick each have a team-high nine points.
Day has 10 points to lead Rosamond.
