They say there is no place like home, but the members of the Campbell Hall boys’ basketball program wouldn’t know, considering the team has been playing games on the road for quite some time now. In fact, the Vikings haven’t played in their own gym in more than two weeks.

All that, however, is about to change because Campbell Hall makes its triumphant return to North Hollywood tonight. The Vikings host Rosamond in a Division IV quarterfinal game of the Southern California Regional playoffs. The appearance at home will be the first since a 58-point victory over Azusa on Feb. 15.

‘I hope we remember what our place looks like when we get there,’’ Coach Terry Kelly said after top-seeded Campbell Hall payed a majority of its Southern Section playoff games on the road because of a quirky rule essentially stating no team can be awarded back-to-back home games unless it wins a coin flip.

‘I’ve never been a big fan of that rule, never really understood it,’’ Kelly added. ‘Honestly, we’re really looking forward to getting back to our normal routine. We can’t wait to play in front of our fans again. We have a huge home-court advantage. We don’t lose at home.’’
