Football: Upland’s Nunes off the market after committing to the Vols

It’s official, the recruiting process is finally over for Josh Nunes. The 6-foot-3 senior-to-be from Upland verbally committed to Tennessee on Tuesday, choosing to play quarterback for the Volunteers despite having offers from 20 different Division I programs, including Florida, Oklahoma and Stanford.

Matt Barkley, Richard Brehaut and Allan Bridgford made decisions about their respective futures a while ago, leaving Nunes as one of the nation’s few high-profile prospects without plans already in place. That is, until now, of course. Click here for quotes on the decision-making process.

The fact Nunes made up his mind at this stage of the game shouldn’t come as a major surprise given all the things he had to say in this blog about the prospective colleges pursuing him.
