After months of squabbling, former Westchester All-City guard Jarred DuBois has been granted a release from Southern Methodist of the letter of intent he signed last November, according to his father, Gary.
DuBois had lost an appeal to have the letter of intent voided, but the family and Coach Matt Doherty apparently came to an agreement, leading to SMU to grant the release.
DuBois would have been forced to sit out his freshman season while losing a year of eligibility if he had gone to another school. Now he’s free to play for a different college this season.
