It’s less than two hours before the 6 p.m. kickoff on ESPN2 between Carson and Mater Dei, and Carson’s new defensive coordinator, Ralph Caldwell, makes it clear that Mater Dei quarterback Matt Barkley isn’t going to be allowed to simply pick apart the Colts.
‘I’m going to throw everything at him,’ Caldwell said.
Caldwell has been out of football the last two seasons after serving as defensive coordinator at Dorsey. He’s feeling refreshed.
Carson could start as many as six sophomores tonight, and Coach Mike Christensen is particularly excited about sophomore running back Dion Willis.
