It appears another Southland athlete will be heading to San Antonio this January.

Narbonne wide receiver Byron Moore Jr. (you know, the kid who’s going to USC next year) is expected to be named to the 2009 U.S. Army All-American Bowl team on Wednesday.

Moore is arguably the best receiver in the City Section and anyone who saw his performance Friday night in the Gauchos’ 56-34 victory over Westchester would attest to that.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is considered one of the nation’s top all-star games, featuring many of the top collegiate recruits in the country. The game will be televised live by NBC on Jan. 3, with kickoff scheduled for 10 a.m. Pacific time.
