It’s time to start finding out about the unbeaten teams to see if they truly could become special or are mere pretenders.
Los Alamitos (6-0) gets to face Edison on Thursday at Long Beach Veterans Stadium. There’s no better league game than this Sunset contest. From the coaching to the fans to the players, it’s going to be an intense battle.
Los Osos plays host to Upland (6-0) in the Baseline League on Friday. What more needs to be said than quarterback Richard Brehaut taking on quarterback Josh Nunes, both of whom will be playing in the Pac-10 next season.
St. John Bosco (6-0) gets its first major test in the Trinity League with a Friday game against Orange Lutheran at Orange Coast College. There’s still some skeptical about the ability of St. John Bosco. I’m not. This could be the game that makes believers of everyone.
Moorpark plays at Thousand Oaks (6-0) on Friday. Don’t forget that Moorpark was in position to defeat unbeaten Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in its opener.
They are great games and great tests.
And still to come are Serra taking on Cathedral, Crespi playing Notre Dame and St. John Bosco playing Mater Dei.
