Junior point guard Ervin Ware, who enrolled earlier this school year at Long Beach Cabrillo High, has made inquiries to return to Cerritos Gahr High, where he stood out in the 2007-08 season, Gahr Coach Bob Becker said Monday.
Ware’s move to Cabrillo raised the attention of Southern Section officials, because he joined another player, Keith Shamburger, attempting to transfer from another school after a connection to the same summer club team, California Supreme.
Now, Becker said Ware will have to obtain a special school district permit to attend Gahr because he resides in Cerritos High boundaries. The previous open-enrollment permit that he used while at Gahr expired when he enrolled at Cabrillo.
