SACRAMENTO--After trailing by 10 points late in the second quarter, Bishop Montgomery scored the final eight points and trails Salesian, 32-30, at halftime today in the Division IV championship at Arco Arena.
Guard Michael Panaggio made a pair of three-pointers and guard Justin Cobbs converted a layup to account for the 8-0 run. The Knights struggled to contain Salesian forward Desmond Simmons for much of the half. Simmons had 15 points and was instrumental during an 18-2 run in which the Pride transformed a six-point deficit into a 10-point lead.
The Minnesota-bound Cobbs has 10 points for Bishop Montgomery.
