D.J. Morgan, bound for USC, was at it once again in the second half on Friday night.
The Woodland Hills Taft senior running back retrieved an errant snap from center and made something out of nothing in the third quarter, breaking several tackles behind the line of scrimmage before racing 44 yards for a touchdown to cut the Sherman Oaks Notre Dame lead down to 35-20 at the 6:27 mark.
It doesn’t seem to matter how many Knights’ defenders are in Morgan’s path to the end zone, he still manages a way to find paydirt. He scored on a 69-yard jaunt early in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 38-27 with 10:28 left in the game. With Morgan on the field, Taft still has a chance in this one.
