On fourth-and-one from the five-yard line, Mater Dei gave the ball to Jordan Allen, and he was stopped for a loss by Edison’s Luke Gane, ending the game and enabling the Chargers to pull out a 36-29 victory in double overtime at Santa Ana Stadium.

Luke was the name that mattered Thursday night. It was Luke Eddy of Edison forcing a fumble that led to a touchdown and blocking a field goal that preserved a tie. And it was defensive lineman Luke Gane bursting through the middle to stop Allen and help Edison improve to 5-0.
