Poor Crean Lutheran South.
The Saints lost to small-school power St. Margaret’s, 56-0, on Saturday. But the final score doesn’t reflect just how lopsided the game was. The Tartans scored on their first five offensive plays and ran a total of seven plays in the first half, with six going for touchdowns.
St. Margaret’s top two running backs had nine carries--and six touchdowns.
Playing in its first varsity season, Crean Lutheran South has been outscored, 299-0, in its six losses.
But better times surely are ahead. Just ask Hollywood Bernstein Coach Darrell Divinity, whose team logged its first victory Friday after 15 consecutive defeats to start its varsity program. The Dragons had been outscored, 522-0, in 2008 during their first varsity season.
‘It’s going to get better,’ Divinity said of the struggles Crean Lutheran South is enduring.
