Former Compton Dominguez boys’ basketball coach Russell Otis was convicted of a misdemeanor child molestation charge, but was acquitted on felony theft and forgery charges on Tuesday.
A Los Angeles County Superior Court jury was deadlocked (10-2 in favor of conviction) on a charge of meeting for a lewd purpose, a felony. Prosecutors have not decided yet whether they will re-try Otis on the felony charge.
