Luther Waters, an assistant principal in charge of athletics at Los Angeles Crenshaw, said his school received several phone calls from rival schools, including Dorsey, expressing support for the football team as it prepares to play in Saturday’s CIF state championship Open Division bowl game at the Home Depot Center.
‘It’s pretty monumental for the community,’ Waters said. ‘We’re going to try to make everybody proud. I think we’ll have a big turnout.’
The school was given 3,500 tickets to sell for the game. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $8 for students. It’s an 8 p.m. kickoff and part of a tripleheader.
