Boys’ basketball: Centennial beats Lutheran, 75-69

Kurt Davis scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter as Compton Centennial came back from a 15-point deficit early in the third quarter to beat Orange Lutheran, 75-69, in the quarterfinals of the Southern California Regional Division III playoffs.

Kevin Smith and Deonte Burton each had 26 for Centennial (27-6), which outscored the Lancers 45-27 in the second half. Gabe York led all scorers with 29 points and Tyler Funk added 17 for Lutheran (24-9).

Centennial moves on to play the Gahr-Foothill winner in the semifinals on Saturday.
