Former Chatsworth shortstop Mike Moustakas hit three home runs and drove in 11 runs on Monday night in a Triple A game for the Kansas City Royals’ Omaha farm team.
Moustakas, taken No. 2 overall in the 2007 amateur draft, hit two home runs in a single inning.
He also was named the Texas League player of the year after hitting .347 with 21 home runs.
His coach at Chatsworth, Tom Meusborn, said, ‘Isn’t that something? It’s pretty amazing. He did in one game more than I did in a career. His success is not a surprise.’
Moustakas set the state record for single-season and career home runs at Chatsworth.
