Los Angeles Loyola is dominating every facet of the game in the Southern Section Division 1A final at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The Cubs lead 39-22 at halftime against Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley and, if not for a few missed layups, the margin would be even greater. Loyola’s speed and quickness have been too much for the Cougars so far. Loyola led 39-19 before Nick Thomas made a three-pointer at the halftime buzzer to give Capistrano Valley a little momentum going into the locker room.
Joe Stein leads Loyola with 12 points, Jacob Hazzard has eight and Julian Harrell has seven. Loyola’s bench has outscored Capistrano Valley’s 14-2 and the Cubs are dominating the boards, out-rebounding their opponents 28-16.
Thomas and Stephen Short each have six points for Capistrano Valley.
