Baseball: Henry Owens delivers in Sunset League opener

In its Sunset League opener, No. 1-ranked Huntington Beach Edison turned the ball over to ace pitcher Henry Owens and he came through with a three-hitter, striking out 11 in a 7-0 victory over Fountain Valley. Huntington Beach defeated Los Alamitos, 5-4.
In the Trinity League, Santa Ana Mater Dei defeated Bellflower St. John Bosco, 7-1.
In the Tri-Valley League, Travis Radke and Derek Stoutland combined a no-hitter to lift Oaks Christian past Oak Park, 14-0. Radke struck out 12 in five innings.
In a Pacific Coast League opener, James Kaprielian of Irvine Beckman threw a one-hitter to beat Irvine Woodbridge, 5-0. He struck out 10 to improve to 3-0.
In the Channel League, Ventura defeated San Marcos, 3-1. Nick Griffith threw a one-hitter. Santa Barbara defeated Buena, 2-0.
In the Alpha League, North Hollywood Campbell Hall defeated Crossroads, 10-6.
