The second quarter of the Southern California Regional Division III girls’ final was not a productive one for Gardena Serra.
The Cavaliers scored the first basket of the quarter, then gave up 12 consecutive points. Santa Maria St. Joseph has taken a 31-15 halftime lead. Serra was outscored in the quarter, 18-3.
Alyson Beebe, St. Joseph’s 6-foot-3 junior center, came alive in the quarter, using her size to score and rebound. She had 10 points and eight rebounds in the quarter after being scoreless.
